Hi SharonI have one of these and it is FAB. No more scrubbing baked on crap from your frypans. To use it, you basically just turn it on for a wee while first to preheat, spray it with some cooking oil (top and bottom) and pour in your mixture. You should notice that there are fill lines at the back of each segment.

You then just close the lid and leave it alone. You will find that when the omlettes start to cook they will rise up and actually elevate the lid of the machine. There is really no set time of cooking because it varies depending on what you've got in the mixture but you can usually just tell when they're ready - they end up with a sort of crispy golden brown coating. If you do take them out prematurely at any stage, you can just drop them back in anyways. As far as recipes go, there are no rules at all. It's up to you what you like in them. My DH doesn't like anything too 'fancy' so his usually just have tomato and mushrooms in them. My mum on the other hand, came around yesterday wanted to whip one up and put in some fresh diced leg ham, bocconcini, onions and tomato.
It's entirely up to you so invent away! Obviously the base of these recipes is simply beaten eggs and maybe a drop or two of milk - seasoned with salt and pepper to taste. You can also poach and fry eggs in them although I've had more success with frying. You just melt a bit of butter in the bottom of the cooker and wait until it starts to bubble, coat the bottom of the pan and break your egg into it. Close the lid and cook according to how you like it. My DH has lovely runny ones but at the moment, being pregnant, I have been cooking mine until they're quite hard. You can totally tell by looking at them what stage they're at.Anyway, I've crapped on long enough. Enjoy making your omlettes and knowing that all you have to do to clean the pan is give it a quick wipe out with a damp cloth - big sigh of relief!I reckon they're pretty foolproof once you have a bit of an idea but please let me know if you have any questions.Me 29DH 36TTC since Feb 04M/C Sep 04 (10 weeks)EDD 30 Oct 05.
Usually three eggs plus other goodies will make two really decent sized omlettes. It just depends on how much extra stuff you chuck in to 'beef' it up. You don't have to fill them right up to the 'maximum' line mind you - I just like to because it crisps them up nicely on the top. It's all a little bit of trial and error as far as quantity goes but if you do go over, you can do my trick: put the excess omlettes in a takeaway container and head off to work with them for lunch the next day. My DH was a little sus on me when I put a couple in his lunch but really enjoyed them in the end. Just gotta nuke 'em till they're hot enough and tuck in.
Don't forget the salt and pepper!Me 29DH 36TTC since Feb 04M/C Sep 04 (10 weeks)EDD 30 Oct 05. I just spray the omelette pan with canola spray when doing fried eggs, they aren't really 'fried' as such not greasy at all.For poaching I think you use a tablespoon of water but I haven't had much success and they tended to be the same as the fried version.I make my cheese omelette with plastic cheese. I love how it melts, I pour 3/4 of my egg mix in and then top with a little cheese slice and finish with more egg. The cheese oozes out - very yummy.Good Luck and enjoy - so easy to clean and very quick and easy to make.Obesity experts say freebies should be restricted to attracting children to healthier options.A study has found working mums toil for an average of 98 hours a week.It starts with respect. It's also reducing landfill.Switch of Netflix and go to bed.In more than 25 years' of journalism, I've never interviewed a leader who topped his or her class at school. The ACCC had issued an urgent recall.Girls in primary school are just as physically capable as their male classmates, according to research.
